Guess who dropped in on the weekend! We were delighted to host His Excellency, Prince Albert of Monaco, for a relaxed and informal tasting of the Dombeya range on Saturday, Jan 24.
Prince Albert was spending some R&R time in Cape Town after completing an expedition to Antarctica in early to mid January. He and a group of friends were welcomed by Dombeya Wines winemaker Rianie Strydom, who presented a tutored tasting and a sneak peak at some samples from the outstanding 2007 vintage.
”It was great to have Prince Albert drop by and visit us. He’s such a lovely, unassuming guy, very easy to have around. It was a very relaxing day and the wines looked terrific, something that was commented upon by more than one of our guests,” said Rianie.
Dombeya Wines was the only cellar to be visited by Prince Albert during his visit to the Cape.
